First launch
- Choose Open Dataset to load a local file or a dataset from a configured server.
- Use Import Dataset to convert supported source data into the BorgVR format.
- After opening, the Immersive Space starts. The volume appears in front of you while controls remain available in visionOS windows.
On first launch, BorgVR asks for a SharePlay display name. This name identifies you in shared sessions and can be changed later in Settings.
Manipulating the volume and clipping
Choose the interaction mode before pinching and dragging in the Immersive Space.
- Model
- Move, rotate, and scale the volume. Reset restores the initial transform.
- Clipping
- Position and rotate the clipping plane to inspect the interior of the dataset.
- Marker
- Select, create, move, and scale markers with a two-hand gesture.
- Screen View
- Position the shared screen view of Mac, iPhone, and iPad participants in space. This mode appears only while such a view exists.
Rendering mode and transfer function
The render window switches between illuminated transfer function, transfer function, and isosurface rendering. The Editor button opens either the transfer-function editor or the isovalue editor for the active mode.
In addition to the large editor, the transfer function can appear as a HUD or as a widget below the dataset. Look at the curve, pinch, and drag: horizontal movement shifts the curve and vertical movement changes its width. The initial point remains stable once dragging begins.
The separate color controls below the widget select red, green, blue, or alpha. Changes made in another editor or through voice commands are reflected in every display.
Hand-created markers
The marker window controls whether new spheres appear at the hand or gaze position. A pinch creates or grabs a marker, and dragging moves it. Select multiple markers in the list to change their name, color, radius, or direction display together.
Quick Marker
When Quick Marker is enabled in Settings, a rapid double pinch creates a sphere even outside marker mode. Keep the second pinch closed to move it immediately. Quick Marker is temporarily disabled in normal marker mode.
Loading and saving
The marker window loads and saves .marker files. Local and remote catalog entries are shown together, with matching dataset IDs highlighted. Existing markers can be replaced or extended when loading.
Logitech Muse
On supported visionOS versions, Logitech Muse acts as a spatial stylus. Its tip appears as a preview sphere. Draw with the primary button or by pressing the tip against a physical surface; BorgVR turns the samples into a smoothed tube mesh.
- Hold the second button and move up or down to change stroke radius.
- Hold the second button and move left or right to cycle hue at full saturation and brightness.
- Settings control whether other SharePlay participants can see your stylus tip. When disabled, no preview positions are transmitted.
SharePlay
Start or join SharePlay through the system interface and BorgVR's SharePlay button. Rendering parameters and markers are shared, while spatial Vision Pro views remain separate from the common screen view used by other devices.
BorgVR visualizes the shared screen view as an eye in front of an image plane. If a Mac, iPhone, or iPad user detaches, that person receives a separate color-coded representation with a display name. Its frustum appears while it is being manipulated.
